On Wednesday 7 February 2024, EMB and its Young Ambassadors hosted their 16th ECOP Wednesday series event featuring Aiste Klimašauskaitė from the University of Bergen in Norway. Aiste gave a talk on the "Mitigization of the deep-sea mining policy process in Norway". The talk was followed by an interactive Q&A discussion. The event was held over lunch and was one hour long, from 12:00 - 13:00.

On Wednesday, 6 December 2023, EMB and its Young Ambassadors hosted its 15th ECOP Wednesday series event featuring Ricardo Serrão Santos from the University of the Azores & Portuguese Academy of Sciences. Ricardo gave a talk on the multifaceted relationship between humans and the Ocean "Ocean, society and cultural anachronism". The talk was followed by an interactive Q&A discussion. The event was held over lunch and was one hour long, from 12:00 - 13:00.
Online launch of EMB Policy Brief No. 11 on Blue Carbon

This webinar presented EMB Policy Brief No. 11 “Blue Carbon: Challenges and opportunities to mitigate the climate and biodiversity crises”, which was launched in October 2023. The webinar includes a presentation of the document and its main messages, a response to the document by the European Commission, and a panel discussion with Q&A from the audience.

On Wednesday, 8 November 2023, EMB and its Young Ambassadors hosted its 14th ECOP Wednesday series event featuring Marie Morgane, a PhD student at the University of Montpellier. Marie Morgane shared her experiences, engaging as a young and early-career marine researcher, mostly through the Global Youth Biodiversity Network, who represents young people in the United Convention on Biological Diversity. The talk was followed by an interactive Q&A discussion.

The online lauch for EMB's Position Paper No. 27 'Building Coastal Resilience in Europe' took place on Thursday 19 October. The webinar featured Dr. Sebastian Villasante who presented the key messages from the Position Paper, followed by a panel discussion with Ivan Conesa Alcolea (DG RTD) and Q&A with members of the working group.

As Early Career Ocean Professionals (ECOPs) are interested to engage in the marine science-policy discussions, the European Marine Board Young Ambassadors organized a 2-day EMB ECOP Network Forum to give early careers the opportunity to learn about the European science-policy landscape and receive hands-on training how to interact with and effectively communicate their science to policymakers. The event took place in person only on Sunday 8 and Monday 9 October 2023 at the Cidade da Cultura, Santiago de Compostela, Spain.
