EMB Annual Report 2025

EMB engaged in a wide range of marine science-policy activities throughout 2025. These included the publication of the Future Science Briefs on 'Deep Sea Research and Management Needs' and on 'Monitoring, Verification and Reporting of mCDR', organisation of the 9th EMB Forum, and engagement in a number of externally funded projects. EMB maintained its support for the UN Ocean Decade, including the EMBracing the Ocean artist-in-residence programme, and for the EU Mission Ocean. The EMB Annual Report presents a high level overview of the governance and structure of the European Marine Board, and the activities and events undertaken by EMB and its Members in 2025. It contains information on the decisions of the Board regarding new marine science-policy foresight activities; active EMB Working Groups including their outputs and publications; marine science-policy conferences and events organised or contributed to by EMB; interactions with wider stakeholders and policy makers and collaborations with initiatives such as the UN Ocean Decade and the EU Mission Ocean.
