Data and modelling

The large amount of data produced from ocean observations, need to be transformed into information and knowledge to be useful for ocean governance and to enhance the Blue Economy. Some of the ways that this can be achieved includes marine ecosystem modelling, and through digitalization and analyses to address big data. Models are useful for hypotheses testing and to address complex linkages across the land-ocean-atmosphere interface and to link physical, chemical, biological, geological, hydrological, ecological, social and economic data to address policy questions.
