EU4Ocean workshop– Designing Ocean Literacy action in Europe

Following the official launch of the EU4Ocean Coalition on Ocean Literacy in June, and preparatory meetings and workshops of founding members of the EU4Ocean Platform, the Youth4Ocean Forum and the EU Network of European Blue Schools, a series of interactive and participatory online workshops will be organised on 24 and 25 September 2020. Interested participants, founding members and key stakeholders will have the chance to get to know each other, share knowledge, discuss and address ocean related challenges. Together, participants will co-create future collaborative actions at EU and sea-basin levels.

Ambition, organisation, process and tools supporting collective action

Online workshops planned on 24 September include:

• The EU4Ocean coalition: what, what for, how? (morning)

• Engaging in the EU4Ocean Platform (morning)

• Mobilising the Youth: the Youth4Ocean forum (afternoon)

• The Network of European Blue Schools: embarking on a journey for ocean literacy (afternoon)

Building momentum for collective actions

Online workshops planned on 25 September include:

• Paving the way to collective initiatives addressing key marine challenges on Climate and Ocean, Food from the Ocean, and Healthy and Clean Ocean (morning)

• Building collective Ocean Literacy initiatives at the sea basin scale - accounting for the EU diversity, cultural richness and knowledge sharing (afternoon)
