The EMB Ambassador Programme is open to PhD students (with more than two years of PhD funding left) or post-doc researchers (with at least two years left on current contract) who are able to engage in the programme for a period of two years. For this role, we are seeking enthusiastic and engaged individuals who are willing to use their creativity, imagination, communication, artistic talents, and interpersonal skills to help promote EMB activities and marine topics to various stakeholders in Europe. EMB Ambassadors can be stationed anywhere, although note than in-person EMB activities take place in Europe, and Ambassador meetings are held at times suited to European timezones. EMB Ambassadors can have a background in any aspect related to the marine environment, including natural sciences, social sciences, policy and governance, humanities, interdisciplinary research, and/or science communication. There are no nationality restrictions on applicants, but they do need to have a demonstrable link with at least one of the 38 EMB Member Organizations. The EMB will support Ambassadors in their activities (including support of the EMB Early Career Ocean Professional (ECOP) Network), as well as financially, in networking, and with publicity for their own work.
