EMB Ambassadors host workshop at YOUMARES Conference

On 14 October 2022, the EMB Young Ambassadors hosted a workshop on 'Connecting to the Ocean: Learning to consider varying perspectives in conservation research' at the YOUMARES Conference in Berlin.

As part of the YOUMARES Conference, organised by and for young marine researchers, the EMB Young Ambassadors hosted a 2-hour workshop on 'Connecting to the Ocean: Learning to consider varying perspectives in conservation research'. The workshop and its organisation was led by EMB Ambassador Juliette Biquet, who also presented the concepts of Ontology and Epistemology to the attendees. The workshop also included a presentation on 'MPAs Regulation and the Relationship between Nature and Society: Onto-epistemic issues in England' by Professor Margherita Pieraccini (University of Bristol, UK), and a panel discussion with early career researchers Garima Poonia (The Kachrewaale Project, India), Diana Lorena Rico-Vélez (Kuehne Logistics University, Germany), Letícia Weber Oliveira (Haedes, Belgium) and Emily Wagdin (University of Exeter, UK).
