A new EMB working group, WG SUBLAND, held its kick-off meeting in Szczecin, Poland, on Thursday, 26 September. This multidisciplinary working group, chaired by Dr Nicholas Flemming (affiliated with NOC, UK), will look at a combination of archaeology and geology, and how we can identify past climate change and human migration patterns by conducting research on the sea bed of our shelf seas. WG SUBLAND will also provide strategic recommendations on issues related to Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) in the European maritime area, in order to mitigate impacts from expanding offshore commercial activities.
