This European Marine Board and JPI Oceans will jointly hold a workshop at the European Maritime Day stakeholder conference in Malta, to tackle the relationships between marine environmental health and human health. Speakers will highlight the need for a coordinated oceans and human health research programme in Europe, addressing both benefits and challenges to public health associated with our interactions with the seas. Furthermore, the workshop will highlight the need for monitoring the marine environment in the context of MSFD. The workshop will take place during the European Maritime Day stakeholder conference on 22 May 2013 (from 9:30 to 11:00, Mediterranean Conference Centre, Marketing office).
