In her new blog on Failure in Academia - The Upside of Down, EMB Young Ambassador Rebecca Zitoun, a Postdoc at GEOMAR in Kiel, Germany, reflects on how failure is seen as a negative within academia, and questions whether this is truly beneficial within science. She also considers the impact this attitude towards failure has on early career researchers and suggests that we should reconsider, viewing failure as an inevitable part of our careers, and an important and positive learning experience.
