ECOP Wednesdays May 2024
On Thursday 2 May 2024, EMB and its Young Ambassadors will host an ECOP Wednesday series event on Improving ECOPs' training, connection and representativity: Outcomes from the EMB ECOP Forum in Santiago. The session will feature outgoing Ambassadors Juliette Aminian Biquet and Alfredo Garcia de Vinuesa as speakers. The talk will be followed by an interactive Q&A discussion. ECOP Wednesdays April 2024
On Wednesday 3 April 2024, EMB and its Young Ambassadors hosted an ECOP Wednesday series event on 40 Years of Ocean Literacy: Reflecting on 20 Years History and Looking Forward to 2044. The session featured speaker Peter Tuddenham from the College of Exploration, USA. The talk was followed by an interactive Q&A discussion. The event was one hour long, from 12:00 - 13:00 CEST.
ECOP Wednesdays March 2024
On Wednesday 13 March 2024, EMB and its Young Ambassadors hosted an ECOP Wednesday series event on DTOECOPs Warm-Up: Shaping early careers' perspectives of Digital Twins of the Ocean. The session featured three speakers: Chloe Delpont-Ramat and Audrey Hasson from Mercator Ocean international, and Babis Ipektsidis from Netcompany-Intrasoft. The talks were followed by an interactive Q&A discussion. The event was one hour long, from 16:00 - 17:00 CET.
Ocean Decade Conference Satellite Event: Supporting a global collective vision for ocean science by matching regional priorities
Regional structures play a key role in guiding activities to support the achievement of the global Ocean Decade Challenges. For the first time since the start of the Ocean Decade, different regional ocean science organizations and initiatives (European Marine Board, IOCAFRICA, IOC-WESTPAC, IOCARIBE, IOCINDIO, and the Southern and Arctic Ocean Task Forces) will present their research priorities for the end of the decade, providing the pieces of the puzzle of the global ocean.
