During the meeting, Gilles Lericolais was elected as the new EMB Chair, replacing Jan Mees who had cepleted his full 5-year mandate. New EMB Secretariat Member, Science Officer Britt Alexander, was introduce to the Members, as were the new EMB Young Ambassadors, Alba Gonzalez and Liam Lachs.
The launch of the new publication Navigating the Future V was announced, and the recent EurOCEAN 2019 conference was discussed. A new EMB activity on Geohazards was also approved.
The upcoming EMB publication on Research Vessels was discussed, and the recently started working group on Big Data was also highlighted.
As the meeting followed directly on from the EurOCEAN 2019 Conference, no open session was held.
